It is part of the Jurassic Coast line which is now a world Heritage site. With a variety of beaches from beautiful sandy beaches to Stoney beaches, it has miles of lovely coastline. Dorset is a lovely place in the UK for a holiday.
All worthy of a visit if you are interested in art, there are many art galleries across the region. The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra has many concerts that you could attend to enjoy some really excellent music. There are many festivals throughout the towns and villages of the county too. Or the Marine Theatre at Lyme Regis each offer high-quality and exciting entertainment throughout the whole of the year, a visit to the Dorchester arts Centre or the Sherburn arts link. There are many places in the area which are packed with arts and crafts.
If you are a keen gardener you might like to visit the rhododendron gardens at Mintern. Mustard keen history fans, the two castles in Sherborne one old and one new. Athelhampton is a grade one listed manor house from the Tudor period with amazing architectural gardens. The county has lots of gardens and historic houses.
And the Tolpuddle martyrs Museum is a must for fans of social history, the fleet air arm aviation Museum, for those who love military things there is a tank museum. And keep military museum as well as many others, terracotta Warriors Museum, there's a teddy bear Museum. Across the county to a wide range of museums in next edition is available.
You can also visit the llamas and take a guided llama trek through the countryside. Swannery at Abbotsbury and a dinosaur Museum, there's the amazing monkey world which is in a rescue centre. Exhibitions and shows to take them to, if you've got the family with you then the children will really enjoy themselves too.There's a lot of museums.
Dorset is a great holiday destination. With the area from Charmouth to Lyme Regis providing the ideal location, the coastline is the amount of fossil hunting opportunities.
